Tai Chi Chuan is based on martial arts (strikes and blocks) but focused inward on body awareness and movement.
Qi Gong means “mastering the art of controlling life energy”. We practice appropriate posture, movement, mental concentration and breathing.
I have been practising Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong for 20 years. My teacher is Mariusz Szewczyk, the founder of the Polish Wushu Academy “Nan Bei Shen Long”. As part of the classes, I would like to share my knowledge and experience with you and build your skills in the practice of Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
I invite you to a journey that begins with acceptance and respect for your body and its capabilities as they are.
What possibilities does Tai chi and Qi gong offer:
- Building body awareness and balance (concentration on the movement and a stable position),
- Respect for your own body and its capabilities as they are (we do not compete with others) – if pain occurs, we reduce the scope of the exercise or rest,
- Strengthening muscles and tendons (bearing weight on bent legs),
- Increased energy (punches, kicks, pushes),
- Deepening breathing (push out – exhale, withdraw – inhale),
- Flexibility (stretching during all exercises),
- Athleticism (the movement is continuous through the positions – never stops),
- Moving away from habitual rush by focusing on the here and now (we don’t need to achieve anything or rush anywhere while making systematic progress),
- Calms down and enhances the sense of joy of life (movement, concentration on the here and now),
- Supporting health. These forms of movement are like the work of a plumber who clears clogged pipes through which our energy flows (helps release tensions and blockages).
- It gives you the opportunity to spend time with inspiring people,
